The weather outside may have been cold but the Nordonia boys and girls bowlers were hot on the lanes at Roseland. Both the boys and girls team brought home championships from the annual Nordonia Knights Classic.
The boys bested 16 other schools to capture the title. The Knights led the field by 90 pins to earn the number 1 seed in the match play round. The team swept through the match with three consecutive 2-0 victories including defeating defending Division I state champion, Huber Hts. Wayne in the finals. The Knights were led by senior, Conner Novak’s 685 series.
The girls team on the other hand took the hard earned way to the victory. The Lady Knights were seeded 7th going into the match play. However, the girls scored a series of upsets over #2 seed Ravenna, #6 seed Kenston before defeating the number 1 seed Stow-Munroe Falls in the finals. In a match that came down to the final ball, the ladies maintained their composure on several key spares to secure the win. The girls were paced by senior, Hannah Luketic’s 523 series.
