Knights News · Lady Knights soccer defeat Hudson and Roosevelt


The LadyKnights soccer team beat Hudson HS  1-0 on Wednesday.  Athena Kolettis scored the loan goal 22 minutes into the game on a perfectly placed ball from Sam Wiehe. A total team effort made the result stand as the Knights defeated Hudson for the first time in school history!  The Knights completed a perfect week by defeating Kent Roosevelt on Saturday 5-0.  Goals were scored by Wiehe (2), Sophie Lim (assist Wiehe), Kolettis (assist Carly Hanson) , and Grace Koperna.  The defense, led by Koperna, Morgan Bugenske, Riley Saliga, Sierra Boczkiewicz, Maddie Wasielewski, and Gabby DeMarco,  was phenomenal in holding Roosevelt scoreless.  Sheyli Wetzel recorded her 4th shut out of the season.  Seniors Tylar Thomas and Lim provided high work rates to keep Roosevelt off balance all game.  The Knights improved to 5-0-2 and return to action on Wednesday, September 12th when they play conference foe Stow HS. Game times are 5/7pm. The Junior Varsity improved to 2-2-3 as they tied Hudson and Roosevelt.
