The Knights Varsity Football team received a pregame pep talk from Coach Terry Forbes and members of Nordonia’s undefeated 1979 football team. The 1979 team was Nordonia’s first unbeaten team in school history. The current Knights took what they said to heart and played a fantastic game on Friday evening. Nordonia led the majority of the game when Stow scored with 42 seconds remaining to take the lead at 28-24. Rather than hanging their heads, the Knights coaching staff drew up a perfectly planned reserve which the team expertly executed on the ensuing kick-off. Senior, Dominic Stockle fielded the kick off and started left with the ball while fellow kick returner, Jon Banks looped around and received a pitch from Stockle. Key blocks on the back side of the play opened the entire visitors sideline for Banks to speed into the end zone with 27 seconds to play. See the video of the winning play below:
