Virtual Spring Sports Awards Ceremony

Since we were unable to play and host a traditional spring sports season, the Nordonia Athletic Department has put together a virtual recognition ceremony.  Your spring awards were either picked up during locker clean out days or mailed to your homes.  If for some reason, you have not received them, please contact the Athletic Office

Hamrick named Athlete of the Week

Junior catcher, Mike Hamrick has been named Nordonia Athlete of the Week.  Mike hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to tie the score in Saturday’s game versus Shaker Hts.  In the bottom of the eighth inning, Mike hit a walk off grand slam home run to give the Knights a 10-6 victory.  He

Knights Varsity Baseball Team sweeps Columbus Trip

The Nordonia varsity baseball team swept a three game road trip in Columbus last weekend.  The Knights downed Worthington Kilbourne on Friday evening 10-5 with pitcher Joey DeRusso picking up the win.  On Saturday morning, the Knights ventured to Hilliard Bradley where they won a split doubleheader downing Bradley 14-11 and Ontario 8-4.  Kyle Chonko

Varner signs with Walsh

Senior baseball player, Vince Varner has signed a NCAA National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Walsh University.  Varner, a varsity letterman in both football and baseball at Nordonia, will complete his senior for the Knights baseball program this spring.

Nordonia Athletics Sends Support

After reading a tweet from University of Houston Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Kelvin Sampson, Nordonia High School Head Baseball Coach, Drew Hoisington answered the call.  Coach Sampson was requesting athletic apparel to help with the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.  Coach Hoisington solicited donations from the entire Nordonia High School coaching staff to provide needed items.

Nordonia senior infielder, Trey Crockett has been named the Wascovich-Lake Shore Insurance Athlete of the Week.  Last week, Trey hit .357 with 2 doubles, 1 home run, 4 RBI’s and 5 runs scored.  The Knights went 3-1 for the week.  The team is currently 9-4 overall and is in first place in the Suburban League
